Festival of Praise 2011

Exodus 4:12 "Now therefore,  go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say." My burden is how best to witness to the people who live in my building.  My year verse is very special to me.
Sue Harris

Psalm 66:10-12
and Rev 3:8
Our year verses are -- "For you, O God, tested us; you refined us like silver. You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs. You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance." "I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name." Dr. Tim Roehl

Psalm 139:16  "Your eyes saw my unformed substance , and in Your book all the days [of my life] were written before ever they took shape, when as yet there was none of them."  My year verse is especially important during these days when abortions are killing so many children. Sue Martin

Proverbs 18:10 "The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe!"  PTL!
Dr. Robert Morris

Jeremiah 32:40-41

"I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me.  I will rejoice in doing them good and will assuredly plant them in this land with all my heart and soul." What a thrill to realize that God rejoices in doing good for his children. Lloyd Hanton

Lamentations
3:22-24
The unfailing love of the LORD never ends! By His mercies we have been kept from complete destruction. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each day. I say to myself, "The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in Him!" Joy Wease Boutakov

Ezekiel 3:4-11 " 4 He then said to me: “Son of man, go now to the people of Israel and speak my words to them. 5 You are not being sent to a people of obscure speech and strange language, but to the people of Israel— 6 not to many peoples of obscure speech and strange language, whose words you cannot understand. Surely if I had sent you to them, they would have listened to you. 7 But the people of Israel are not willing to listen to you because they are not willing to listen to me, for all the Israelites are hardened and obstinate. 8 But I will make you as unyielding and hardened as they are. 9 I will make your forehead like the hardest stone, harder than flint. Do not be afraid of them or terrified by them, though they are a rebellious people.” 10 And he said to me, “Son of man, listen carefully and take to heart all the words I speak to you. 11 Go now to your people in exile and speak to them. Say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says,’ whether they listen or fail to listen.”
Pastor Jeremy Geerdes

Zechariah 13:9 &
Revelations 21:3-5a
Our year verses -- "This third I will bring into the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on my name and I will answer them; I will say, 'They are my people,' and they will say, 'The LORD is our God."  "And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He willdwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; (F)the first things have passed away. And He who sits on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." Verne Summers  C.E.I.1953

Matthew 28:6a My life verse/year verse. "He is not here, for HE is RISEN, just as HE said."(YEAH) All of Christendom rest on the fact that JESUS rose from the dead. That gives us hope. We do not need to be afraid because He ROSE from the dead on the third day. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God almighty.
Because He lives we will have eternal life.    Yeah God!
Eternal Life=a gazillion        Death=0        We will because He won!

Luke 5:4 "Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught." My prayer is that I will do what the Lord wants me to do this year even when, like Peter, everything part of being cries out and says, "I'm tired" (he had been fishing all night).  "This doesn't make any sense."  "I think I know what's best," etc., etc.   Peter, in spite of his expertise in fishing and knowledge of the sea trusted the Lord's command.  It was a small command indeed to obey, but his life was never the same.  Immediately, he forsook all and followed Jesus and as a result, he along with his brother and the rest turned the world upside down.   Steve Bagby

John 15:7

"If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you."     ~~ John 15:16 KJV (This verse was given to my husband, James Lanz, by Dr. Iva Vennard—I believe the Lord is giving it to me as a second Life Verse.--  My first "life verse" is Zephaniah 3:17: The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17

Romans 8:38 & 39 "For I am persuaded beyond doubt - am sure - that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening, nor things to come, nor powers, Nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Jim & Olive Slye

Romans 8:38-39 It encourages me to know that nothing has the power to separate me from God's love.

James 1:4 "Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." Work, and Perseverance (and Mature) -- not necessarily my favorite words. Nonetheless, that's the deal for this year. Sandy Harris

I Peter 4:13 "But rejoice in as much as you are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that when His glory shall be revealed ye may be glad also with exceeding joy."   Betsy Schott
