Lila Joyce Faust, 90, went peacefully home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 9, 2023 at Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan, Michigan. Lila was born on a farm in St. Clair County, near the village of Goodells, Michigan on June 13, 1933. Lila was the ninth of eleven children born to Grace Lena (Rondeau) and Charles Otis Faust. The family later moved to a farm near Memphis, Michigan. Lila cared for her parents and resided on the farm until her mother's passing in 1974 at which time the farm was sold. Lila attended Doyle, a small country grade school. She attended two different high schools, Memphis and Armada and graduated from Armada in 1951. She graduated from Vennard College, a small Bible college located in University Park, Iowa. After graduating from Vennard she worked in the business office on campus. Later, she held the position as the Dean of Women which she enjoyed very much. She loved mentoring the girls under her supervision and even developed some long-lasting friendships with some of the girls. Lila had two beloved pets during her adult life. She loved Cassanova and Tucker both dearly and cherished the time she had with each of them as they filled her days with joy and love. Lila loved to play piano. She played for Sunday morning services for a few years in her later years at Delton Faith United Methodist Church where she was a member. She liked gardening and especially loved flowers. She loved the Detroit Tigers. And everybody loved Lila's delicious peanut butter fudge. Lila was preceded in death by her eight brothers Francis, Clifford, Claire (killed in action-WWII), Kenneth, Donald, Thomas (killed in action-Korea), Elmer, Robert, and her two sisters, Helen and Carol. She is survived by one remaining sister in-law, Myra Faust and by numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 5, 2024 at the Williams-Gores Funeral Home in Delton, Michigan. Private burial will take place at East Hickory Corners Cemetery.
