Isaiah 40:28-31 Life verses since 1977. Isaiah 40:28-31. "Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Our God has always given me the strength and energy to do His will even when logic says I should not have that energy and strength. The key of course is am I doing his will and am I waiting on Him? My aim in 2025 is to wait on Him and do as he directs me.

Isaiah 54:2-4 I am so grateful for this spiritual practice Vennard gave us! Every year the Lord would remind of His yearly promise at key times, calling me back to our Promise Maker an d Promise Keeper. Every year I wouldn't’t have to search for a year verse…His year verse(s) would find me! "
"Enlarge the place of your tent; Stretch out the curtains of your dwellings, spare not; Lengthen your cords And strengthen your pegs. For you will spread abroad to the right and to the left. And your descendants will possess nations And will resettle the desolate cities.Fear not, for you will not be put to shame; And do not feel humiliated, for you will not be disgraced; But you will forget the shame of your youth, And the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more. Lamentations 3:21-22 At the website I looked over my year verses from previous years, and remembering why they were important to me. I realized my verse this year works in tandem with last year's verse. 2024 "The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still." 2025 "This I recall to mind; therefore I have hope: the Lord's lovingkindnesses indeed never cease." (Ex 14:14, Lam 3:21-22). Favorite OT book, Nehemiah. Favorite NT book, James. Favorite OT verse, Neh 4:9 "we prayed to our God, and posted a guard." (prayer first, but you also have to do the work). Favorite NT verse, John 19:30 "It is finished."

Psalm 103:1,2

My year verses for 2025 are a challenging reminder of the power of praise.
"Praise the Lord, Oh my soul, all my inmost being praise His holy name.  Praise the Lord, Oh my soul, and forget not all His benefits."
Sharon Cox

Psalm 143:8 "Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life."

Habakkuk 3:19 (ASV) "Jehovah, the Lord is my strength; And he maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, And will make me to walk upon my high places."  My verse this year  is such a strong reminder that even in the midst of life going like a Japanese bullet train, through God’s strength, I am being allowed to continue whatever He asks me to do. It’s not of my own strength for sure, because I am often amazed that He gives me  HIS strength!   I will literally be back in Ecuador this summer , at 75  years old , in Quito, high in the Andes. I keep pinching myself that I’m going to be back there again!  God is so GOOD

Luke 1:37 I am claiming Luke 1:37 as my verse for the year 2025. "For with God nothing shall be impossible." Recently I became aware of the following quotation that has challenged me to be a person of more hope, more faithHope is the ability to hear the music of the future. Faith is the courage to dance to it today. (Peter Kuzmic) So this verse from the Christmas story will be my mantra for 2025.

Ephesians 3:20-21 My life verse is Ephesians 3:20-21. "Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen." Perhaps my verse for the year is “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

1Thessalonians 5:15

Last year my verse was, “The joy of the Lord is my strength.“ Nehemiah 8:10. Right now, the verse “Make sure that no one pays back wrong for wrong but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.” 1Thessalonians 5:15

I Peter 4:11 My life verse from my time at Vennard to today is: 1 Peter 4:11 "If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen"

I Peter 5:6 "Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time."
